Adventures Group Holdings Board

The Adventures Group Holdings board is made up of two executive directors and two non-executive directors.

 

Sam Hayward -

Chairman and Non-Executive Director

Sam has more than thirty years experience in the supply chain and logistics industry. He has a background in consulting, designing and implementing supply chain & inventory solutions across a wide range of industries. ​

Sam is a co-founder of InteLog, Integrated Logistics Services Pty Ltd.  He is a director of Liquid Liners Pty Ltd and John Martins Logistics Solutions Pty Ltd. He is a board member of a number of private companies in the logistics, agricultural and health care industries.​

He has been a director of Hema Maps Pty Ltd since 2008 and Chairman for the last 4 years.​​

Sam has a Bachelor of Business (Transport Economics) from RMIT, is a member of the Logistics Association of Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

 

Alan Fisher - Non-Executive Director

Alan has over 30 years experience in the retail and supermarket categories leading the successful regional retail businesses, Fishers IGA.​

​He was owner and operator of the 4th generation Fishers family business for 20 years, Alan oversaw the operation of 16 regional IGA supermarkets and 6 service stations and 2 stand alone bottle shops. He still owns most of the properties.​​

Alan is a respected leader and grew the success of the Fishers business off the back of a strong culture and the support of the local community in which it operated.​

Alan directed the growth of the Fishers business, a member of the IGA buying group, until it was eventually sold to the Ritchies IGA Group in early 2016.​

Alan spends his time between Melbourne and Mildura as he works on property development opportunities.​

He has a particular interest with indigenous recognition.​

 

Robert Gallagher - CEO & Managing Director

As the Chief Executive Officer, Rob will be responsible for delivering the business strategy and overseeing the core operating functions of the business (product, content, partnerships & marketing).

Prior to setting up Adventures, Rob was the General Manager of the Adventures division of Bauer Media. In his four years with Bauer, Rob worked within the group to develop start up initiatives (Turu.com.au) plus develop integrated commercial and content solutions across print and digital properties.

Before joining Bauer, Robert worked in a number of senior roles within the sports & wagering sectors, most recently with Agility Interactive (a subsidiary of the government owned, Tote Tasmania).

 

Matthew O’Meara - CFO & Company Secretary

As the Chief Financial Officer of the Adventures group, Matt is responsible for the corporate services aspects of the business.

Matt left his role as the Executive General Manager - Commercial and Chief Financial Officer of the Port of Melbourne Corporation and its subsidiaries to set up Adventures. He was responsible for a Division that spanned the finance, legal, board, administration, IT,  corporate affairs and People and Culture functions of the Port of Melbourne. ​

Matt is a Certified Practising Accountant and prior to joining the Port of Melbourne Corporation, worked in a variety of industries in senior finance positions in Australia and the UK, most recently with Boral Ltd. ​
